Nokia 6760 review

I got Nokia 6760 for trial on 21st of June 2010.
Thanks to wom World.
After using it for 2 weeks here are the results.
Pros
1.Good Text messaging device.
2.Fast and snappy.
3.Looks good in hands

Cons.
1.Small Screen.
2.Problem with Auto rotation if slider is kept to auto lock.
3. Can not be used with Single hand.
4.2.5 mm jack and not 3.5 standard.
5. No 3g or Wifi
6. Audio not upto the mark.

I think it is not the very best of nokia mobiles , the company which makes mobile like N95 and N8.
Overall star rating for this will be 3.

 

Panasonic DMC ZS3 aka TZ7

Bought this item Panasonic ZS3 From Amazon on 30th December 2009.
Its 5 months since i m using this product and i m really amazed by this small beauty ( rather beast in a beautiful body ).
I have shot more than 2000 photos and more than 5 hours of HD Recording.
Both are amazing.
I m a Dr by proffession and does not get much time to read photography tricks. But this camera really understands to the max and always gives me Perfect results in Auto Mode.
10 Mega pixels, 12x Zoom , Zoom while HD Recording, Face recognition and MEGA OIS , everything seems to work perfectly.
I see on amazon that its price has gone up in last 4 months. I bought it for 270 Dollars and now it is more than 280 Dollars.
I m thankful to my aunt who bought this for me from USA while coming to india as it Costa 400 Dollars in india under brand name of TZ7.

Just got a time to Jot down my TRUE EXPERIENCE with Lovely Built device Nokia N97 (courtesy WOM World, i owe them a big thanks ).
It will be much better if i jot down in points as i m more comfortable in making a point wise illustration.
Wonderful Things in the device ----
1. Lovely Large Screen which i can read in HOT SUMMER of india at 41 Degrees of heat under full sun. But this can not be a USP ( Unique selling point ) of a device.
2. Lot of Editing allowed in Contacts List itself , like placing ur Favourite contacts on top of the list of ur contacts so when u open contacts they come in the beginning of the list as starred contacts.
3. Good free flow Widgets of mail and Facebook.
4. Good Qwerty Keyboard.
5. Other usual Thing which are standard on Symbian devices also worked very well and so were the Third party Applications Like ---
i. smartphoneware best task manager, full screen caller, full screen message Best Profiles,
ii. snaptu, gravity,
iii. Google maps opera mobile and opera mini
1v. Advanced device lock , Solitaire.
v. Voice inbox and others.
6. Connectivity is extremely good with either Wifi or 3 G.

Not so good Points ----
1.Bad Camera ( bad than my N95)
2.Bad GPS locking. in my 5 days of outdoors i could not lock GPS for once .
My N95 and Nokia 5230 were excellent. (Is there a bad GPS Hardware specifically in this device ? ).
3. Photo and Video option should have been different.
4. Connectivity in auto mode ( From Wifi to 3g ) works after lot of tweaking. i had to work for one full night to solve the issue. if any body interested i can detail on this issue now.
5. Poor Memory of both RAM and PHONE memory. I simply could not understand why so ?
my Nokia 5230 have same ram, Processor and phone memory as of N97 and this costs only 8000 rs!!!. if u really ask me than i have to tell u the truth that i started loving my 5230 more after having a week with N97.
6. Bulky. Not easy to carry.

Conclusion.
I enjoyed N97 a lot but i think it requires some hardware upgrade and this can be a better handset. Come on Nokia other than Software tweaks minor hardware upgradation can also be done with ur Flagship model.
Thanks Wom world for this great opportunity u have given to me. i look forward to another opportunity to try another masterpiece from Nokia ( may be N8 )( just Dreaming )

Hands on N97.

Hi All !
on 10th may i got my Trial Device from Nokia WOM World.
This is really an amazing experience and level of trust that WOM world shows for its followers.
i was awed by the experience when i have N97 in my hand for trial. Initially i thought why would any one give me a mobile for trial when i m miles away from their place and they dont really know me. but when i recieved it via DHL i was flattered.
The First reaction was WOW ! my internet blogging and all the Passion for tech and Mobile may be paying up or in more simpler words God is kind to me.
Well next Jump to the Experience with the mobile itself.
Day 1. I got my mobile at 1430 hrs while i was still in my OPD looking after my patients. My wife called me up and said that DHL people will open the package and u have to check all the contents. So i rushed up to my home and opened up the pakage and went back to my clinic.
after coming back at around 5 pm , i started fiddling with device.
since i m using Symbian Phone for last 6 Years it was SOOOOO simple to do all the basic tweaking like Phone switch, Home screen Setup etc etc. on day 1 it was all about setting transfer from my N95 and making it connected to my Home Wi fi.

Day 2. Real usage started on day 2.
I used VOIP-- Fring and Nimbuzz and both worked flawlessly.
surfed the net--- Smooth ( with Opera mini ).
Nokia e mail--- Smooth on Wifi but but but when i went out it will not Sync. I was into it for 1 hour but i could not tweak it to work with my 3G connection. Dont know why ??. I tried send and recieve option , tried changing the connection and lot but it will not sync.
Facebook Updation also started lagging and some SCRIPT error occured every time.
GRAVITY was real smooth but it consumed lot of data.
Emoze always hanged up my phone.
Gmail Application from Google has very bad GUI.
Camera is so so ( my N95 has better camera ) also i saw some scratches covering the lens ( may be because of Cover ).
Gallery is Slow.
In Video Playback-- No support for various Codecs like mov, divx etc.

Day 3. Phone has Started  hanging a lot.
As soon as i open E mail widget of G mail , Phone screen will go BLACK.

Day 4. Now that it was getting troublesome, i thought of giving it a hard Reset.
after hard resetting what i did was completely different.

I made Connectivity option--- Access point edited for no 2 priority.
i Entered the same settings manuaaly from my Nokia 5230 for MTNL 3G connection.
Now it is Going Very Very Smooth. Now i m getting in love with This device.
It syncs Smoothly.
GPS is showing me india and not London.
will post more in next post as i have to rush for an meeting with colleagues on management of Cardiac Arrythmias. ( Heart Problem ).
